PROVERB

let' learn proverbs

All’ well that ends well
A risky enterprise is justified so long as it turns out well in the end.

Practice make perfect
Doing something over and over again is the only way to learn to do it well

Penny wise, pound foolish
Unwise because doing something small now would prevent much more trouble late

Better late than never
Doing something late is better than not doing it.

Out of sight, out of mind
If you do not see someone or something frequently, you will forget about it. (Sometimes used to imply that you will forget about people who have moved away.)

Slow and steady wins the race
If you work slowly but constantly, you will succeed better than if you work fast for a short while and do not continue.

Great minds think alike
Very intelligent people tend to come up with the same ideas at the same time.

Waste not, want not
If you use a commodity or resource carefully and without extravagance, you will never be in need.

Look before you leap
One shouldn't act without first considering the possible consequences or dangers

A friend in need is a friend indeed
A friend who helps out when we are in trouble is a true friend

An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth
The notion that for every wrong done there should be a compensating measure of justice.

A handsome shoe often pinches the foot meaning
A good thing is all the sweeter when won with pain.

Honesty is the best policy
You should always tell the truth, even when it seems as if it would be useful to tell a lie.
